According to the Intellectual Property Statistics Briefs in 2020 released by the Strategic Planning Department of the State Intellectual Property Office,  from January to November 2020,  China applied for 1.403 million invention patents,  and granted 470 million invention patents. By the end of November 2020, the number of effective invention patents in China was 3.010 million,  among which, the number of valid invention patents in China (excluding Hong Kong,  Macao and Taiwan) was 2.168 million,  and the number of invention patents held per 10,000 population reached 15.5.

From January to November,  China applied for 2.726 million utility model patents,  and authorized 2.152 million utility model patents.By the end of November 2020,  the number of valid utility model patents was 6.788 million.

From January to November,  China applied for 70000 design patents,  and 672,000 design patents were authorized. By the end of November 2020,  the number of effective design patents was 2.156 million.

From January to November,  our bureau accepted 62,000 PCT international patent applications,  of which 57,000 were domestic.

From January to November,  our bureau accepted 49,600 requests for review,   and closed 44,900 cases. A total of 5,500 requests for invalidation were accepted and 6,800 cases were concluded.
